This year, we collaborated with fellow B Corp Pip & Nut on their creative strategy, showcasing their peanut butter brand with real squirrels present! Tash, their Brand Manager, was kind enough to sit with us over a coffee to share insights on food, drink, and sustainability;
Q: Share something you’ve listened to that you would recommend (music/podcast etc)
A: I am listening to alot of the Table Manners the podcast, it’s the musician Jesse Ware with her and her mum, all about food – it’s really great because everyone at work listens to it, it’s a fun talking point.
Q: What’s the best movie or TV show you have seen recently?
A: I have been watching season two of bad sisters with Sharon Hogan – it’s great but I’m not very patient and want all the episodes at once rather than once a week! I’m also watching Rivals, a real easy watch.
Q: What are you most excited for in 2025?
A: I am getting married next year, so that! But work related, we are doing our biggest ever campaign in January, we are going to be doing out of home podcasts and influencer campaigns, and it’s also our tenth birthday!
Q: What positive experience has moved you or made smile in the past 12 months
A: In all honesty, not just saying this, but the Royal parks event we did with you guys was so great, it all went to plan, couldn’t have done it without your team, so so positive – incredible to see everything coming together!
Q: As a B Corp, What part of Pip and Nut’s drive for sustainability are you most proud of? Any initiatives for 2025 you can share?
A: Everyone in the business is clear on how they can drive sustainability within the business, from the senior team all the way to intern level. Each member of the team has a B Corp goal per quarter and it’s really easy to see how that ladders up to our wider business targets.
Pip is on the board of B Lab, the non profit organisation that drives B Corp certifications, and is extremely passionate about this which is very clearly communicated across the business which is massively helpful when it comes to understanding how to make a positive impact.
We have loads of initiatives and everyone is involved, but something the team does on a regular basis is volunteering- we all have three paid volunteering days which we can use throughout the year and it’s a great thing to do as a team – for example this year the team has done lots of volunteering with FoodCycle across London, but we’ve also picked pears in Kent that would have otherwise gone to waste, run by the Felix Project who then distribute the fruit to school kids in London.
The way we communicate our sustainability journey in our Impact Report is also something we are really proud of! It’s a great way to clearly show all of the work that has been done, as well as the work we still have to do.
Q: What nourishes you – food or drink – recommendations!
A: Well, I’ve got to stay on brand, Pip and Nut, sweet and salty, crunchy of course! Or our milk chocolate peanut butter cups, I eat a pack every day! I also love the Moju fiery mango shots, love them!
Q: What are you most grateful for?
A: In terms of work, I’m lucky to be a part of a really brilliant team, all working towards a shared goal, all trying to achieve the same thing by working together.
Q: Any advice from you as an established B Corp to us as a newly certified one?
A: Make sure that everyone within the business has a reason to contribute and understands what it is to be part of B Corp and how we align with the mission. Then it isn’t all on one person, giving people a proper understanding of the impact report really helps – having a leader that spearheads the project and inspires the rest of the team is essential.
